As a new mom, I have to admit, the first car trips with Baby are pretty scary. I find myself paying ridiculous attention to my driving skills and doing all I can to make sure something doesn't happen. Therefore, this is a great little gadget for to at least assure me my daughter is okay until I can otherwise assuage my paranoia.
Though initially worried about getting my rear view mirror and the Brica mirror to match up, I found it wasn't a big deal at all, in large part due to the nice big size of this mirror. Slight adjustments, all routine in driving, as well as a good positioning of the Brica mirror make for an ideal reflection and I think most people will quickly find what positions work for them. I also like how easy it is to attach the mirror and how versatile are the attachment options. The attachment itself seems quite secure and I have not experience any initial mirror slippage.
This is a handy little mirror that worked better than I anticipated, and I believe it will work great for those parents who want to see Baby.

This mirror does exactly what it says it will. Installation was easy. The mirror seems nice and secure. It makes seeing baby via rearview mirror while driving possible. It is definitely a stress reliever. I'm using this with baby #4 and I like the reassurance of seeing his little face. Much improved from similar products I tried with my older kids. Baby also seems intrigued by his reflection and it has helped lessen his crying bouts while buckled in the dreaded carseat or "baby seat of torture" as my family has nicknamed it.
I wish the reflection was a little clearer, but I'm not sure if that is even possible without using a real mirror which would be way too heavy for car use. All in all a nice product and one I'd recommend for all parents who have little ones riding rear facing.

I REALLY dislike this product. I used it exactly once for my granddaughter and then threw it out. I didn't give it to a friend because I think it is flawed and unsafe. Let me explain why.
DEFECTIVE DESIGN AND DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING
1. My car seat is on the passenger side of the back seat. Yes, I am aware of people who say that the car seat should be in the center of the back seat, but I disagree, and don't do that. Right off the bat this means that this mirror will be at an angle to my rear view mirror.
Note: One of the pictures on Amazon shows the child sitting in the center of the backseat. That picture is deceptive because it shows what you would see if you were looking through the back window of the car. But this is NOT what your child will see looking in the mirror. Aside from the fact that mirror images are reversed (so if this picture was realistic, it would show the driver on the right), the only thing my granddaughter could see in the mirror was her own face (I bent down next to her to see what she was seeing). To me this picture is a form of deceptive advertising.
Another picture on Amazon shows the child sitting on the driver's side of the rear seat . At least this picture shows a reflection where all that the child sees is his head. The mirror is positioned over the headrest. But the child seat is so high that the child's feet are almost up to the top of the rear seat. We have already used no less than three different car seats, and I have yet to see one where my granddaughter was so high up. On all the car seats we have used she is lower down, which means that I can't position the mirror the way you see it in the picture fully covering the headrest. Instead it is much lower down--and much less secure.
2. I installed this on a rear headrest. It was virtually impossible to secure it nice and tight so that it did not slip around at all. Fortunately I took only a 25 mile trip, because the mirror rattled each time I hit a bump.
3. No matter how much I played with the angle, at best I could see my granddaughter only from the chin up, and the bottom part of the reflection was blurry because shatter resistant plastic is not close in quality to glass (which of course would be dangerous to use). And without a second person in the backseat to move the mirror into position, I found it a real pain when I first installed this to keep having to go into the back to position it and then go into the front drivers seat to see how it looked. It should not have been such a nuisance for one person.
4. When I sat in the drivers seat the way I normally do, all I saw was the top of the rear headrest in my rear view mirror. The only way I could see my granddaughter was to physically lift myself up a couple of inches while driving.
SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE
5. what ultimately led to throwing this product out--and why I think it is UNSAFE--was my daughter's comment that there is a big difference between shatter resistant (like this mirror) and shatter proof (which this mirror is not). So in an accident this mirror could fracture into sharp pieces that would become lethal projectiles. Not a chance that I would ever take, or ant a friend to take, so into the trash it went.
Note: One additional irritant is that the directions are printed in extremely small print on the box using an ink color that is not easy to read. This means you have to save the box to keep the directions instead of having an easy to read thin brochure.
