We have all made good and bad decisions on Amazon I'm sure. No amount of reviews can protect our expectations from being let down. However, this is one of the few "charger" devices I have been truly happy with.
The best:
This charger chargest my HTC EVO 4G LTE (2,000mAh battery) with the screen on @ 10% at a rate of 1% every 64 seconds. My HTC charger that came with the phone charges under the same situation at 1% every 60 seconds. This really is a FULL SPEED charger, and unlike the cheap $2.00 types it didn't overheat or cause my phone to heat anymore than the wall charger.
This charger fits securely into the port on my car and doesn't wiggle around.
The USB port and the male micro usb port have great quality control and have a secure fit (i.e. no off balanced or oddly protruding).
There is no bright light shining in your face when you are driving at night (because there is no LED on this charger at all).
The OK:
The permanent cable is actually like most "car charger" cables that spiral after a few inches from both ends. This is nice because it keeps the cord in check if you have a small dash area in a small car. This is not quite as nice if you have to stretch the cable to the back seat or something. It will stretch out full length, but the spiral creates the typical "pull"
The Bad:
I couldn't find anything disappointing at all. As always, if something comes up I'll edit this review to let you know.
This has certainly earned itself the top spot in the Car Charger category. If you don't have an iPhone it will work great for charging two items at once, with one at full speed. It will also make your iPhone friends happy when they join you for road trips.

What I noticed most was that my Android phone did not get too hot while it was being charged. In the past some of the ones that I tried seemed to heat my phone up. My wife was able to use and charge her Ipad 2 at the same time I was charging my phone. Both outputs give the full required power. The USB Ipad port has 2.5amp output and the standard cell phone plug has 1.5amp
I had the chance to use this for over a week before writing this review. We traveled up north and was in the car a long time. I never ran low on anything as this adapter came to the rescue for not only my phone and Ipad but my hands free speaker phone. I think you will be very happy if you buy this and with the guarantee that Anker offers you can be sure they will be their should you need support or a question answered. You don't find this too often so it is an extra bonus in my book.

EDIT: 7/12/13. Received the new charger a few weeks ago and have used it flawlessly in each of the previous vehicles that I tried it in. It delivers a very fast charge and would recommend this to anyone. Also a big Kudos to Anker as their customer service was absolutely top notch in helping me deal with the defective unit.
EDIT: 6/20/13: Received an phone call immediately from Anker. They believe the charger was defective and sent me a replacement right away free of charge. Great customer service and looking forward to testing the new charger when it arrives.
ORIGINAL POST: When I first received the product, I plugged into my Carolla and didn't receive a charge. I tried it in my friend's car and it worked fine. I took it back to my car and no charge and I realized the metal tip was getting stuck in the unit itself so it wasn't making the connection with the metal in the car charge port. I then tried it in another vehicle and had limited success--sometimes it would charge the phones perfectly whereas other times it would begin charging and then stop after only a few minutes. It seems like there is a loose connection somewhere as there is no consistency for when it will/will not charge.
When it does actually charge, however, the product is great--charges both my Galaxy S4 and my friend's Iphones at the same time very quickly. It's just the inconsistency I can't deal with.
