Hi,
I've never written a review before, but this has been such a sanity saver for me and my family.
My cat has been acting out since our move in March. He was urinating everywhere and hissing at everyone but me.
We took him to the vet and all the tests came back negative. He was put on prozac but could not handle it and was still hissing and growling. I tried this collar, I wasn't hopeful, but then...It worked. I have my sweet kitty back. He has done a 180 and has stopped all of the bad behavior and seems truly happy again. Thank you for this product. It is wonderful!

We have 3 cats. In the spring we started a major home renovation. A few months later our daughter moved in with her cat. Things were chaotic for the first month and the 4 cats began to act out with aggression, howling, inappropriate urinating etc. Tried chiropractic, calming herbs, Sam-e. All worked to some degree but now with the cats all wearing the calming collars tensions have practically vanished and everyone has settled down. There is a noticeable odor from the collar but it's not offensive. We don't have the collars on very tight and there has been no hair loss or any other problem. Everyone in the house is happy again.

When a neighbor was relocated to Asia, we got his cats. My 10 year old neutered tom had been the only male in a house with 4 geriatric females. The new cats are both young males. My tom did not appreciate this, and howls, cat fights, cornering, intimidation and other not-nice behavior became daily occurrences. Our vet advised giving away the new cats, a solution my husband would not agree to. My vet then suggested Feliway plugins. Expensive in a large house, and though it seemed to help, the problem did not go away completely not to mention they barely last a month.
So I tried this collar. Yes, it works, but as others have noted, USE WITH CAUTION.
1) The collar is not breakaway and is very stiff. There are little hashmarks in it, though, and when bent at those spots, the collar weakens and may be safer.
2) It is almost too stiff to adjust while on the cat, but I found that making it so loose that it slips over the head very easily works well. Oddly, the cat doesn't slide it off even when it's so loose that he could just shake his head.
3). My tom loves the smell so much that he rubs against it,
4) BUT when I first put it on him, he bolted out the cat flap and didn't come home for 5 hours. I really thought I'd lost him. As another reviewer cautioned, don't put it on the cat if you can't monitor him for the next few hours.
SORT OF SOLUTION- I adjusted the collar so that it's so loose I can literally snag the cat with the collar. It changes his behavior immediately! He hates to wear the collar, so I usually just rub it on his fur when he acts antsy. If he starts to act aggressive, I slip the collar on, and he immediately stops his aggressive behavior.
