I normally don't write reviews, but since I read about 50 before buying this, I will throw my two cents in and hope it helps someone. I have a wireless adapter that works great, but it only works with an ipod/iphone and I want to be able to listen to the music on my droid. I picked this one because I didn't want to spend a whole lot.....the last one of these I bought was $50 and the cord shorted out after a few months so it was kind of a waste. This one works great! There was a little static when I first plugged it in and I was worried, but it stopped after a few seconds. The sound quality is great and it is nice to be able to use it with any device. I haven't had any trouble at all finding a good station with no interference, but I do live in a fairly rural area without a lot of stations so that could be a factor. It looks a little chintzy but don't let that throw you off. It also has a USB port that you can charge your device with at the same time, but doesn't come with the USB cord, just so you know. I definitely recommend.

This works really well, generally quite happy with it.
A few things I wish I had known before buying:
+ although advertised as "full range", its range is 88.1-107.9. I was hoping to use 87.9, but this isn't supported
+ after a thirty seconds or so of no signal the transmitter turns itself off. This means if I pause my audiobook to concentrate on navigating or in traffic, and forget to turn off the radio I get suddenly blasted with static.

This is my second Excelvan, but there is an important difference: the first was for the older iPhone models (3gs, 4, 4S) and was fitted with the iPhone plug rather than a headphone plug. Even with careful treatment, the wire connected to the iPhone plug soon began pulling away from the plug and then shorted out.
So, why did I buy another Excelvan, and rate it 5-Stars?
Because the performance of the Excelvan is unrivaled. I've tried over a half dozen other FM transmitters, and static/interference made them at best frustrating to use. I realized that this Excelvan model with the universal earphone plug looked to be more durable than the first Excelvan I purchased, so I bought it based on the performance of my previous Excelvan.
Good decision! The wires seem larger, and I don't see how I will have the same issue I experienced with the iPhone plug on the previous model.
The thing about the Excelvan is its power ... unlike all the other transmitters I've ever tried, this is the only one powerful enough to result in static-free reception in almost all cases. I think the longer wires connecting the unit help, but bet the transmitter puts out more power, too.
I had to give this 5-Stars based on superb performance, even though my previous model had the iPhone plug issue. This model seems like it will last a long time.
